Locomotive put in a superb defensive performance today to emerge victors in what turned out to be the hardest match of the season so far at Christchurch Park. The away side took an early lead in three minutes, when a floated corner was headed in superbly by Stu Bramley. This was one of few chances in the half, as Royals pushed Loco with numerous attempts, but all of them were far-out and all were wayward.
However, when they did get them on target, goalkeeper Martyn Langford was having the game of his life with a string of fine saves. It was this, twinned with some resolute defending, that was standing the Loco in good stead.
The second half saw Loco get more of the ball, and although a good chance from Andy went begging, Ali turned up on the 80th minute, to crash home a superb left footed drive into the top-left hand corner. Final-score, 2-0 to Loco.

Locomotive put last weeks tough encounter behind them as they polished off The Pines 8-2 in a combative performance at West Moors today.Sean Barker was the man-of-the-moment as he netted 4 goals, and others were notched from Andy Smith, Ed Bradshaw, Lee Arnold, and Darren Mountfield.
The game was one in which the team truly gelled for the first time. Some good movement in the middle of the park, together by some very patient and fluid build up from defence, helped the side feel very comfortable in possession.
Thanks to the Tap and Railway for free munch after the game, and also to Ian Davis for refereeing!
Loco through as Tome go out

Loco had it tough this week, but not because the opposition were good, we just shot ourselves in the foot with a weak performance, and we conceded two silly goals from set plays.Thankfully, goals from Lee Arnold and two from Ed Bradshaw turned a negative performance into a positive result.
Although some of the Loco build up play was good, we let ourselves down in terms of finishing the game off, and defending from free-kicks.
It was a generally shite day weather-wise anyway, so it probably doesn’t warrant a further mention. But yes, we’re through - bring on the next opponents.
Loco start season with a loss

Loco started the season with a loss against DBJ Property in a match where we, you won’t believe this, really should’ve actually won. Here’s the report. Ed Bradshaw was Loco’s shining light as he netted twice, in a match that saw Loco forge many chances, however with the sun beating down, we were hot and sloppy - rather like Bomber in a girl’s bed.
The match, played at Slades Farm, was a difficult one, however a good thing to come out of it was that we wroked until the end, and we played as a team, and with all these new players coming in and just starting to gel, the future is very bright indeed.
