Locomotive put in a superb defensive performance today to emerge victors in what turned out to be the hardest match of the season so far at Christchurch Park. The away side took an early lead in three minutes, when a floated corner was headed in superbly by Stu Bramley. This was one of few chances in the half, as Royals pushed Loco with numerous attempts, but all of them were far-out and all were wayward.
However, when they did get them on target, goalkeeper Martyn Langford was having the game of his life with a string of fine saves. It was this, twinned with some resolute defending, that was standing the Loco in good stead.

The second half saw Loco get more of the ball, and although a good chance from Andy went begging, Ali turned up on the 80th minute, to crash home a superb left footed drive into the top-left hand corner. Final-score, 2-0 to Loco.
